ELLE TENANTS OF THE TREES We Found The Gold Stars In Silver Lake Pres

Housed in a 1940s building in Los Angeles’ Silver Lake area, we find a cultural convergence of music, film, art and cuisine. It is a creative compound that offers designed experiences from intimate performances to Sunday brunch sessions, that will leave you feeling spoilt.

Creative co-owners Reza Fahim and Jason Lev were adamant that the venue reflect the architectural DNA of the neighborhood. It is a unique space that is growing fast, and is currently comprised of two bars: Out of Order and Tenants of the Trees.

It’s intended to be explored, featuring seating for privacy, coupled with open areas and airy, high ceilings

The duo brought together a mixed bags of talents: Jason, originally from Vancouver, Canada, is an experienced DJ, producer of large scale events and a specialist in building architectural homes around Los Angeles. Reza, has a finely curated career that covers the spectrum of film, design and creative direction. Together, they are producing magic.

Out of Order

Out of Order is an invitation only space with a beautiful court yard and bar. Eastern European inspired, it has rustic furniture and brass finishes that compliment bold black and white floor tiles, and soft wood paneling on the ceilings. After seeing Julian Sands perform Harold Pinter in the small attic of a castle in Poland, Fahim was inspired to let that imagery inform every detail of the space.

It was designed to provide small pockets of space to dance and savor artisanal drinks at the bar.

Tenants of the Trees

Focused on the mid-century architecture of the area, Tenants of the Trees has a backyard, relaxed feel. Layered with architectural elements and surrounded by 100 trees and lush greenery, the open bar concept emulates a playground for adults encouraging dancing and socializing. A thoughtfully designed sun room and airy patio provides a spot for more private interactions. Outside a vintage Citroen milk truck that serves as a second bar.

Soon the next addition called Concession will open, which is comprised of an outdoor cinema, a mini lime orchard, rotating food trucks to match the movies and collaborations with chefs. After that, get ready for another boutique bar called Baby at the Whitehorse, but for now we highly recommend making your way to the Silver Lake neighbourhood for an inspiring and unforgettable social occasion.
